Jordan Release Calendar

Every year, Nike refocuses its retro catalog to bring our attention back to silhouettes that have slipped from memory and deserve some renewed love. Hot on the heels of the Foamposite-inspired Nike GT Future bringing lifestyle crossover basketball shoes back to prominence, Beaverton is bringing back its predecessor, the Foamposite Pro, including a Gym Red retro for the first time in over 10 years.
The Nike Foamposite Pro Gym Red is fully dipped in a candy apple monochrome red covering the bulky shield-like side panels and the thick Swoosh. The ripstop-patterned fabric on the toebox and the rest of the upper is also done in red, matching the red mesh tongue and red laces. The only bits of contrasting color come from a two-tone red and black carbon fiber plating in the midfoot, plus a black tongue label and black outlined mini Swoosh on the lateral side toe.

First released in 1997, the Foamposite Pro was a state-of-the-art basketball shoe at the time. Despite its relative heft and bulk these days, the space age silhouette still looks like it was brought back from the future. After bringing back a few retro colorways in 2024 and 2025, Nike is continuing the trend into 2026 with even more focus on Foam, including this 2015 triple red rendition that garnered comparisons to the Air Yeezy 2 Red October.
The Nike Air Foamposite Pro Gym Red will be released May 29, 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $240. For all the latest Nike news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
