We are only a few months removed from the new year, and we’ve already been inundated with previews of Nike releases for 2025. As is the case with the early parts of the new year, The Swoosh has plans to celebrate the Chinese New Year, leaning into this year’s zodiac animal, the snake, through snakeskin details on multiple footwear offerings. Alongside the kids’ exclusive Dunk Low and the multiple AF1s revealed, Nike also gives the adults a version of a Year of the Snake Dunk Low.
Nubuck and leather take over most of this Dunk Low, opting for an earthy color palette of olive and ironstone. Ironstone details land on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay, each coated in a nubuck material. Below this sits an olive green tumbled leather, visible on the toebox, midfoot panel, and collar. Sail shades are on the lace set, contrasting the green nylon tongue and the red snakeskin tongue tag containing golden Nike branding. Further nods to this snake motif are found on the end of the green Swoosh, with a red “snake” embroidered along the stitching. Inside, the sockliner gets a quilted finish, and the insole features custom Nike branding that aligns with the other Year of the Snake sneakers. The sail rubber midsole is finishing the design paired with a brown rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk Low Year of the Snake will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $125.
