The 2024-2025 NBA season wasn’t that great for the Phoenix Suns. Even with elite-level players like Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, both signature athletes with Nike, the team fell short of a playoff berth as they finished 11th in the Western Conference. Even still, Devin Booker continues to honor his team on his first signature model, the Nike Book 1, with a new Valley colorway dropping later this month.
Throughout the Book 1’s lifecycle, we’ve seen a handful of different homages to the Phoenix Suns, the city itself, and Arizona, including on the Sunrise and Sunset colorways, the original Clay Orange rendition, and most recently, the ‘95 All-Star colorway. While all these came with colorful hues, this Valley pair opts for a more muted color palette by utilizing sail shades across the upper. Another change is the material makeup, which opts for a full leather build, unlike previous colorways that threw canvas and suede materials on the model.

Pops of the Suns’ orange and purple color palettes are found on the tumbled leather Swoosh, the inside covered in orange while the outline comes in purple. More purple finds a home on the Book-branded woven tongue label, featuring a sun graphic in the same shade. Gone is the book spine-inspired pull tab on the heel, but the Chapter One text on the heel itself remains. Final details include the number 1 embroidered in orange and purple on the lateral heel, a vintage white rubber midsole, and a tonal outsole.
The Nike Book 1 Valley will release on May 15, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $140.
