Nike’s entire existence can be traced back to the sport of running when Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight teamed up to sell track shoes out of the back of a van. With its roots so deeply entrenched in the sport, it’s no surprise that to this day, Nike is leading in innovation in performance running footwear. No sneaker exemplifies this more than the Alphafly 3, which will soon launch in a new Light Army Desert Moss colorway.
Most Alphafly 3 colorways have stuck to more running-friendly color schemes with light hues contrasted by vibrant pops of color, as seen on the Olympic Safari, Blueprint, Purple Agate, and Eliud Kipchoge renditions. However, this new variant adds an earth-tone twist to the super shoe, coating the ultra-lightweight woven mesh upper in light army shades. This comes accented by desert moss on the painted-on Swoosh near the lateral midfoot, blue hues surrounding the lace set and collar, and ironstone on the tongue area.
Below, the sneaker comes with some of the most advanced tech in the performance running field. The chunky, high-stack ZoomX-cushioned foam midsole provides lightweight cushioning that helps propel runners forward with its carbon fiber Flyplate and dual Air Zoom units, all of which come in a gradient brown finish. Below this is the Fast Shot outsole for optimal grip and traction, featuring a continuous bottom connecting heel to forefoot for a smooth transition.
The Nike Alphafly 3 Premium Light Army Desert Moss will release on January 1, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $285.
