Earlier this year, Nike launched a retooled version of its Air Max Plus silhouette for the golf course. In addition to OG renditions of the Air Max Plus getting this treatment, Nike Golf has applied color schemes that nod to ongoing tournaments in the golf world, last seen with the PGA Championship-inspired rendition. The silhouette is now undergoing a makeover for the upcoming US Open.
Inspired by the steel industry that once defined the city of Pittsburgh, this Air Max Plus Golf for the US Open (which takes place outside of Pittsburgh at Oakmont Country Club) is coated in metallic silver hues. Starting on the base, we see a breathable mesh and TPU reinforcements, inspired by designer Sean McDowell’s trips to Florida, all of which come in silver. A shiny metallic finish is applied to the leather panels running along the edge of the upper and midsole and the tongue tag.

Custom branding details for Nike Golf grace the tongue tag and insole, featuring an anvil alongside the phrase “Forged For Victory.” This is also included on a custom hangtag charm. Finishing the upper are the Tuned Air logos on the heel and the fiery orange/yellow outline along the black midfoot Swoosh. Below is a white foam midsole with the same orange/yellow gradient on the midfoot shank and Air units in the heel and forefoot. Finishing the sneaker is the semi-translucent pink rubber outsole containing a spike-less traction pattern, perfect for the green.
The Nike Air Max Plus Golf US Open will release in June 2025 through Nike and select Nike Golf retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $205.
