Spelman College Has Its Own Nike Air Max 95 Colorway Launching Holiday 2025

Nike’s Yard Runners Collection has been highlighting HBCUs through footwear projects all throughout the 2020s, using silhouettes like the Nike Terminator, Air Force 1, and Dunk Low. Of course, with the Air Max 95 becoming the focal point for Nike in 2025 (the model turns 30 this year), it’s not hard to imagine The Swoosh using the sneaker on this year’s Yard Runners pack. That seems to be the case, as official images of a Spelman College x Nike Air Max 95 have appeared.

Sergio Lozano’s human anatomy-inspired design comes in the college’s color scheme of blue, black, and grey applied to the wavy panels on the midfoot. Starting at the bottom is grey leather that transitions into darker grey, then into varying blue hues. The top panel even features jaguar print on the blue suede, a nod to the school’s mascot.

Spelman logos are applied to the tongue tag and on the insole, while the medial heel features the lyrics “Thy Name We Praise” from The Spelman Hymn, written by Spelman student Eddye Mae Money in 1933. Another detail nodding to the school is the “1881” tag below the “S” tongue label, the year the school was founded. Finishing the sneaker is the white Air Max 95 midsole with blue Air units in the forefoot and heel, the latter getting a big bubble finish, and a black and blue rubber outsole.

The Spelman x Nike Air Max 95 will be released Holiday 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $190.
