Even though 2025 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Air Max 95, Nike looks to continue to bring forth retros of fan-favorite colorways in "big bubble" form in 2026. For those unaware, the original version of the AM 95 featured a much larger Air unit in the heel that, over time, was made smaller and has become the go-to standard for the sneaker. Nike will apply this OG iteration of the tooling setup to a colorway last seen in 2018, the Air Max 95 OG Grape, an original colorway from 1995 that was first launched as a women's exclusive.
Like many of the original Air Max 95 colorways, the Grape rendition sees a gradient pattern applied to the paneling on the midfoot. The human anatomy-inspired layered leather and suede panels start in a light grey and transition into a darker hue as you work up, meeting a mesh netting that partially shrouds the first hits of grape purple in the form of the nylon lace loops. More purple takes over the top of the mesh tongue, and the word "Max" in the Air Max text, embroidered in the center.

Other branding details, like the mini Swoosh on the collar and the Nike Air text on the heel, also opt for a purple shade, the latter featuring a teal hit on the Swoosh between the text. Finishing the design are the white laces, sockliner, and midsole, which contain teal hits throughout the visible Max Air, and sit on a solid black rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 95 OG Grape is rumored to return in Spring 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has not been confirmed.
