Sergio Lozano’s Nike Air Max 95 is experiencing a major resurgence in 2025. Rightfully so, as this year marks the 30th birthday of his iconic design. Celebrations have included multiple collaborations, retros of OGs, and the return to the “big bubble” build that was found on the original releases back in the ‘90s and early 2000s. Luckily for us, Nike is not going the same route they took with the Air Max 1 “big bubble,” as we expect plenty of new Air Max 95s in this build to come in 2025, including the Comet colorway.
Those who may not be well-versed in Air Max 95 history may be unfamiliar with the Comet colorway. The pair was originally released back in 1995 as one of the OG colorways of the model, and it’s returned only twice since then: one retro in 2003 and another in 2010. We can’t really count the all-leather version from 1998 or the Japanese-exclusive Air Max 95 QS from 2021, the latter of which featured a slightly tweaked version of this colorway. News of this 2026 retro was first reported by bubblekope, though Sole Retriever was able to confirm pricing information and the product SKU.

Expect to see the sneaker return in OG fashion with a gradient color scheme applied to the suede paneling on the midfoot. Here, the black shade that starts near the white mesh around the comet red nylon lace loops transitions into dark grey, light grey, then white as you move down. More of the titular comet red is located on the Air Max text on the tongue and the Swoosh embroidered on the lateral collar.
Final details on the upper include white hits on the tongue, lace set, and mudguard. Down below sits a white foam midsole with comet red hits on the Air units in the heel and forefoot, with the heel’s Air unit done in the “big bubble” build. However, it's unknown if the pair will come back with the "25 PSI" text on the Air unit.
The Nike Air Max 95 OG Big Bubble Premium Comet will release Summer 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
