Nike is honoring the legacy of legendary Nike SB innovator Sandy Bodecker with a new iteration of the Nike SB PS8. Bodecker touched on everything in The Swoosh umbrella, but really became known for his work with Nike’s skateboarding division and putting Nike SB on the map.
The icon is most famous for his work on the original see-through eBay SB Dunks from 2003, where he sawed a pair into pieces. The sneaker would be reimagined in that chopped-up form in 2022, but that isn’t the only sneaker honoring the man whose initials are literally synonymous with Nike SB. The Nike SB PS8, short for Problem Solver 8, initially released in 2024 to pair with the Olympics, is getting a third Safari colorway after two years.
The latest iteration of the Nike SB PS8 Safari mirrors the Nike Air Safari even more closely than the previous two iterations. The silhouette features a mixed-material construction, including a Flyknit upper supported by TPU structures and leather overlays on the toe cap and heel counter. Orange hits on the toebox and sockliner stay in line with the original design.

Devin Robertson is a writer and sneakerhead from Memphis, TN. Outside of sneakers, he enjoys film, comics, and music.
Whereas the original PS8 Safari colorway went with a grey Swoosh, this version implements a black leather Swoosh, staying true to the OG Air Safari from 1987. A black and sail Air Zoom midsole and outsole add a vintage look to the modern skateboard silhouette. Wrapping up the wild look are safari print accents on the leather toe cap and heel counter.
The Nike SB PS8 Safari releases in Fall 2026 via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $135. For the latest release dates and news in the world of streetwear, including all things Nike SB, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
