Cali-based skate shop Arts-Rec was long rumored to be working on a Nike SB project, with the retailer finally unveiling its take on the Nike SB Dunk Low back in March. In addition to this silhouette, we’ve known they also had an SB Air Trainer 1, a skateboard-modified version of the Air Trainer model, in the works. Arts-Rec has finally unveiled the release date for both pairs and revealed a first look at the SB Air Trainer 1.
Borrowing the design motifs and aesthetic from their SB Dunk Low, Arts-Rec brings safari influence to the SB Air Trainer 1. This is done via the safari print pattern on the suede mudguard and heel overlay, a cult-classic pattern found on many Nike SB projects of the past. Contrasting this are hits of black on the lateral suede overlays and the lockdown strap, which splits Arts and Rec logos on the right and left sneakers, respectively.

Premium suede and leather in burgundy coat the midfoot, tongue, lace set, and sockliner, while pink fuzzy suede takes over the lateral midfoot Swoosh. Final details on the upper include the Nike SB Air Trainer tag on the tongue and pink quartz suede on the toe and collar. Down below sits a black and white foam midsole with a tonal rubber outsole.
The Arts-Rec x Nike SB Air Trainer 1 will release July 18, 2025, through Arts-Rec online and in-store. A wider release via Nike SB-affiliated skate shops and Nike has not been confirmed at this time. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
