Nike Dunks have always maintained a significant presence in the footwear culture, from their roots in the late '90s and early 2000s skating scene to their mainstream hype and success today. Reflecting on the heyday of the Dunk and before the advent of the SB line, Nike had crafted a series of inline Dunks labeled "Pro B." These featured a fatter tongue version of the Sportswear Dunk, which many skaters adopted to use due to the extra padding. This design insight informed what would eventually become the SB Dunk Low, with this classic style coming back in a new Parachute Beige colorway.
The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B Parachute Beige features a premium construction with buttery suede and canvas materials. The upper is almost entirely covered in parachute beige, with the suede portions on the toe, mudguard, midfoot, eyestays, and heel taking on this hue. The Swoosh and lace set continue the monochromatic theme, while the sockliner, thick tongue, and collar are done in desert khaki, providing subtle contrast.
While the tongue tag forgoes Nike SB branding, mimicking the original Pro B Dunks, the insole features SB branding alongside an Air Zoom logo, indicating that the sneaker maintains the same modern tooling as today's SB Dunk. Underfoot, the sneaker has a sail midsole and a gum rubber outsole, offering a clean and timeless look.
The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B Parachute Beige will release on January 24, 2025, through Nike SB retailers and possibly via Nike online. The retail price is set at $125 in men's sizing.
