While it has been some time since Nike truly went all out for Black History Month, this may change in 2025. Over the weekend, early images of a brand-new Nike SB Dunk Low hit the ‘net, and while some associated its color palette with Shenron from Dragon Ball Z, the color palette draws inspiration from a crystal found in many African nations — Tourmaline.
These early photos of the Nike SB Dunk Low BHM (2025) show the model with a tourmaline-shaded suede upper accented by baroque brown, monarch, black, and yellow hits. Paneling on the toebox, midfoot, eyestays, and heel overlay comes in the titular green hue, while the edges of these panels come with an orange monarch finish. Stark black accents appear on the Swoosh and collar, again lined with monarch orange.

On the back heel tab, we see Nike embroidered in a vintage font atop the monarch orange leather heel tab. Below this, along the heel overlay on the lateral and medial side, are intricate embroidered designs of stars. These stars and the other design elements align with the interior tongue tag, which states the shoe is crafted for the "modern cowboy" and the custom cowboy graphic on the insole.
Moving up to the sockliner, yellow hues dominate the collar and tongue lining. The tourmaline rubber midsole finishes the design paired with a contrasting rubber outsole.
The Nike SB Dunk Low BHM will release in Spring 2025 through Nike SB retailers and possibly via Nike SNKRS online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $135.
