If you've ever watched Brazilian skateboarder Tiago Lemos, you already know how important hip-hop is to him. With video parts scored to Ghostface Killah, MF Doom, Nas, and more, Tiago is a prime example of the connection between skating and rap. Last year, Tiago solidified himself in the pantheon of hip-hop heads with a collaboration with legendary drum machine makers Roland, and this year they're back for more.

Releasing August 8th (8/08) for 808 Day is a new pair of New Balance Numeric 808 Lite's celebrating the famed TR-808 drum machine, responsible for the world's most famous bass drum sound.
“Hip hop has been the soundtrack for my skating, and at the heart of many classics was the 808. To have a collaboration with the legendary Roland 808 on my shoe is an honor,” Lemos said.
This year's 808 Day collaboration is a mix of black leather and suede, featuring a clear sole and a gradient of yellow and orange accents on the side and heel. It also includes classic TR-808 branding on the tongue and insole, as well as a custom 808 hangtag.
The Roland x New Balance Numeric Tiago Lemos 808 Lite will release on 808 Day (August 8, 2025), through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $115. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
