Cybersigilism might be a difficult word to pronounce, but the popular tattoo style is everywhere we look these days. Combining shades of tribal tattoos from the 1990s with hardcore music graphics, Y2K-era gamer influence, and horror themes, the tattoo style has exploded in popularity this year. Outside of body art, the design style is finding its way to the sneaker world, with the latest New Balance ABZORB 2000 taking on a cybersiligism-style graphic overlay.
The New Balance ABZORB 2000 Cybersigilism is a triple-black colorway with a series of sharp curves and points flowing across the mesh upper that immediately evokes cybersigilism vibes. The design inspiration seems even clearer after getting a look at the early sketches of the sneaker’s hard shell overlays.

A new model for 2025 mixing a mesh runner upper with an ultra-cush ABZORB-packed midsole, the New Balance 2000 is a perfect match for the tattoo-style design, combining past and present in a brand new package. “The cybersigilism boom will be remembered alongside the barbed-wire armbands of the ’90s and the finger moustaches of 2010,” Australian tattoo artist Thomas Roder told GQ earlier this month.
The New Balance ABZORB 2000 Cybersigilism will be released Spring 2026 through New Balance and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170. For all the latest New Balance release news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
