Jordan Release Calendar

Fall is here, and while you might be tempted to reach for your Triple Black kicks (again), New Balance has a different idea: the New Balance 204L Silver Metallic Flat Taupe.
One of the freshest color combos to land on the retro runner, it taps directly into the vintage sneaker trend that’s everywhere right now. Low-profile running silhouettes from the ’70s and ’80s are having a major resurgence, thanks to their easy-to-wear shapes, muted palettes, and nostalgic appeal.

Adam Cheung is a writer and editor who specialises in sneakers and streetwear. Over the past few years, he's curated features and guides for everyone from Burberry to Nike. Often travelling between the UK and Hong Kong, don't be too surprised if you find Adam anywhere else around the world taking street photography or feasting on the local delicacies.
Up top, this 204L is draped in breathable white mesh, layered with matte Silver Metallic panels for an old-school vibe. A double-stacked “N” logo hits the sidewalls in Flat Taupe, adding a subtle contrast, while the pre-yellowed laces lean into the pre-aged aesthetic. Underfoot, an EVA foam midsole ensures lightweight comfort with every step.
Originally introduced as part of the New England sportswear giant's archive-inspired lineup, the 204L reimagines the look and feel of a classic ’70s trainer while updating the cushioning for modern everyday wear. It’s proof that the brand can dip into its heritage and still deliver something fresh for today’s sneaker crowd.
The New Balance 204L Silver Metallic Flat Taupe is just one of many 204Ls set to drop in 2025. Expect it to release via New Balance and select retailers, both online and in-store for $130.
