After a stellar 2024 highlighted by multiple new variants of the 1906R silhouette, New Balance is picking up right where it left off in the new year. Quickly following the debut of the 1906L, which turned the once-performance runner into a loafer, New Balance is bringing us the 1906W, inspired by the brand’s military-issued 925v2. After official images of four launch colorways appeared online, we have a first look at the upcoming Green Orange variant.
Unlike the original four colors that featured monochromatic finishes across the board, this Green Orange variant sees a two-tone knit mesh base in orange and white stretch across the silhouette back to the heel. Above this sits a Fantomfit overlay, transitioning from a solid light green to an aqua blue from the toe to the collar. This overlay passes by the N logo, which takes on orange, green, and aqua-blue hues and contrasts the solid orange hits on the suede eyelets.

The lace set opts for a grey finish, contrasting the orange-shaded mesh and leather. Solid hits of aqua blue appear on the heel, both in the form of a mesh base layer and the TPU heel counter placed above this. Finishing the sneaker is a solid aqua blue foam midsole and a black rubber outsole originating from New Balance’s 860v2 model.
The New Balance 1906W Green Orange will release in Spring 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
