Picturing a New Balance sneaker in your head, you wouldn’t be wrong to think of greyscale or earthy color palettes, but the Boston-based brand has much more up its sleeve. Recent releases in the Made in USA lineup exemplify this. Teddy Santis, the current creative director of NB’s MiUSA line and the founder of Aime Leon Dore, continues to launch hit color schemes on the flagship 990v6. Following looks at the Community Red and Community Mint colorways, early images of the Community Navy rendition have appeared.
Premium materials and construction define the 990v6, with this pair opting for a community navy shade on the pigskin suede paneling around the mudguard, eyestays, and heel. Metallic Silver and grey hues are applied to the base mesh, while the perforated toebox overlay and smooth nubuck panel on the collar are done in tonal navy hues. Branding for New Balance is apparent throughout, with the silver and white N logo on the midfoot, 990v6 text on the tongue, Made in USA nods on the heel, and the 990 stamp on the lateral heel.

Finishing the upper are the tonal navy laces, a greyscale tongue and tongue overlays, and reflective paneling on the vamp. Underfoot sits a dark navy and blue foam midsole with FuelCell and ENCAP cushioning and a tonal blue rubber outsole.
The New Balance 990v6 Made in USA Community Navy will release sometime in 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $200.
