Some of the most premium offerings from New Balance come from the brand’s Flimby, UK, factory. The Made in UK lineup expanded at the end of 2023 with the introduction of the 991v2, an update to the 20-year-old 991 model that remained a steady fixture in the brand’s lineup. Since this debut in October 2023, there has been no shortage of options for sneakerheads, most recently a three-pack from Stone Island. Returning to the inline releases, New Balance has prepped a Winter Flair color scheme for the sneaker.
As with all New Balance’s Made in UK products, the sneaker comes with premium construction and materials. Pigskin suede in grey hits the mudguard and heel, while a lighter grey pigskin suede lands on the midfoot panel and collar overlay. A blue-grey leather is found along the toebox overlays, vamp, and tongue overlays, contrasting the silver-grey mesh base and tongue.
Pops of orange are found via the New Balance embroidery atop the tongue, with black grounding the design on the N logo, heel tab, and 991 branding window near the lateral heel. Underfoot sits a two-tone grey and white FuelCell-cushioned midsole with pops of orange near the heel and forefoot, paired with a black and grey rubber outsole.
The New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Winter Flair will release December 12, 2024, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
