New Balance was one of the first footwear brands to launch its Lunar New Year-inspired collection in 2025, dropping three pairs in the US (and two WRPD Runners overseas) within the first week of the new year. While these weren’t direct homages to the zodiac sign, this year being the Year of the Snake, the newest 9060 colorway is helping the Boston-based label honor the Lunar New Year.
Akin to the WRPD Runner colorway that hit shelves last summer, this 9060 has faux snakeskin overlays across the various paneling. The snakeskin, starting at the toe, slithers back across the toebox, passing the black and white N logo on the midfoot and ending its journey below the black nubuck heel tab. Below these overlays sits a cream mesh base, with black nubuck accents present near the toe and underneath the midfoot overlays.

Another pop of snakeskin surrounds the top portion of the tongue and encases the NB 9060-branded tongue window, while the heel tab contains another hit of NB branding in the form of an embroidered logo in cream. Below, the 9060s chunky midsole features a tonal cream finish, with a semi-translucent black hit appearing on the heel counter. Finishing the design is the black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 9060 Snakeskin has already been released via overseas New Balance websites and will be released here in the US sometime during the Spring 2025 season. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
