For many in the sneaker community, it has been refreshing to see New Balance reemerge near the forefront of hype with collaborations from Joe Freshgoods to Teddy Santis’ keen eye on the Made in USA line and through ALD. On top of these collaborators, their inline releases have drummed up plenty of demand, especially on one of their newest silhouettes, the New Balance 9060. After getting looks at an almost all-black colorway, the famous "Rain Cloud Castlerock" combo is landing on the model.
Covered in various shades of cream, grey, and white, the model utilizes layering techniques across the suede and mesh construction. The 99X DNA is strong around the toebox, home to a greyish-white mesh underlay and darker suede overlays while the rest of the sneaker delves into Y2K era designs. Along the lateral midfoot, the enlarged N logo gets a silver 3M reflective finish while the medial side features a dot-pattern-like design, both of which sit on the cross-section between the lighter grey front half and darker grey back half. Further branding details appear on the tongue window and heel, hosting “NB 9060” and “NB” logos respectively. Finishing the design is the two-tone cream and white chunky Abzorb midsole paired with a black rubber outsole featuring a diamond-shaped design.
The New Balance 9060 Rain Cloud Castlerock is slated to release on September 2nd, 2022 through New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150. For more updates on the latest from New Balance and more, keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app.
