New Balance’s growth thanks to key collaborations, archival silhouettes being reintroduced, and a slew of hit GR colorways cannot be understated. During this process, the Boston-based label introduced the world to the New Balance 9060 with the help of marquee collaborator Joe Freshgoods and has since inundated the sneaker world with a variety of color combos for the Y2K-era-inspired silhouette. Now the model has just appeared in a creamy “Grey Matter” colorway.
Covered in a combination of leather and mesh across its upper, the sneaker splits its color scheme across the overlays as the front half comes in a light cream hue while the back portion takes on a darker shade of cream. Underneath this, the mesh panels invert this choice with darker portions on the front and lighter on the rear. Contrasting these shades are hits of a brownish-burgundy shade found on the 99X-inspired toebox overlays and back near the heel and collar section. Typical NB branding remains with the lateral midfoot hosting a creamy “N” logo while the medial side comes in a dashed font. Other details, like the “NB 9060” on the tongue and “N” embroidery on the vamp, take on the brownish-burgundy shade while the “NB” on the heel is seen in a creamy white shade. Rounding put the design is the two-tone foam midsole, dressed in green near the heel and cream in the front, paired with a gum rubber outsole.
The New Balance 9060 Grey Matter has already seen a small release through select EU retailers while a global drop through New Balance is set for some time in 2023. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
