For those who are brand new to the sneaker game, the New Balance 1000 might seem like a fresh silhouette. After all, it’s been blowing up across Instagram and TikTok all over the globe. But OGs know it’s actually an NB classic, first born on the running tracks of 1999. And even though dozens of other New Balance 1000s have been released in the last year, colorways like the upcoming New Balance 1000D Silver Black Grape always keep us coming back for more.
Working on top of a Black mesh base, this pair is uniquely wrapped in a net-like material reminiscent of the Air Max 95 as part of the new 1000D variant. Matte Silver leather overlays cover the sidewalls, toebox, and tongue, giving off that unmistakably vintage aesthetic. A rubberized “N” logo sits proudly on the side for a retro-futuristic edge, while bold purple Grape accents inject a vibrant pop of color that’s guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go.

While the top half of the silhouette stays true to its ’90s origins, the tooling beneath has been thoroughly modernized. Plush ABZORB cushioning combines with a Stability Web shank, delivering support, responsiveness, and lasting all-day comfort. Subtle “1000” branding printed across the lateral toe ties it back to its heritage roots, a small but important detail for longtime sneaker fans everywhere.
Scheduled to release toward the end of 2025, the New Balance 1000D Silver Black Grape will be available in unisex sizing via New Balance and select retailers, both online and in-store, for $150.
