With fall coming up right around the corner, New Balance is gearing up with the upcoming New Balance 1000 Black Grey Suede. A sneaker that stands out by blending in, it takes the beloved ’90s runner and gives it a subtle yet stealthy seasonal makeover.
From a distance, this 1000 looks like just another classic 1000 – and we mean that in the best way possible. Drenched entirely in black, it’s accented with muted grey tones throughout. The upper combines breathable mesh for ventilation with smooth leather overlays along the lateral and medial sidewalls. Even the bold, rubberized “N” logo hasn’t changed one bit. But look closer and you’ll spot the game-changer: a mudguard dressed in soft, buttery suede. This material swap is a rare feature for this old-school model.

Other than that, the Black Grey Suede stays true to the tried-and-true formula. The chunky midsole underneath is infused with plush ABZORB cushioning for all-day comfort, while a Stability Web midfoot shank delivers optimal support during movement. The look is rounded off with a glossy “1000” badge stitched proudly onto the tongue.
Set to release in 2025, the New Balance 1000 Black Grey Suede will drop in unisex sizing via New Balance and select retailers, both online and in-store.
