It’s not uncommon for signature athletes to pay homage to the people and places that were part of their upbringing. For Jayson Tatum, who has a signature sneaker line with Jordan Brand, his first model, the Jordan Tatum 1, honored his hometown of St. Louis. However, the Tatum 2’s quick lifespan didn’t allow the Celtics superstar to show love to the 314. However, his Tatum 3 model has just emerged in a paisley-laden colorway that contains nods to his hometown.
While at first glance, the paisley and the intricate stitching details on the upper appear to be the central theme, including the 314 area code on the pull tab on the heel rightfully makes this sneaker an homage to St. Louis, Missouri. As for the color palette, things remain mostly neutral, with a mixture of greys and platinum on the multi-paneled and multi-material upper. Select panels see a platinum-shaded paisley print sandwiched between solid grey canvas and separated by black textiles.
