Before any of us get the opportunity to cop a sneaker at retail, brands go through multiple stages of sampling until they land on the final design. Many shoes are sampled and scrapped without seeing the light of day, and even fewer are photographed or acquired by outside parties. For Jordan Brand, they’ve been more than happy to revisit previously scrapped projects to bring to retail, like the Reverse Infrared AJ 6, which was based on a salesman sample of the model from 1999, or the Citrus AJ 3. Once again, Jordan is digging into the vault and bringing an unreleased Jordan 3 to the market with the AJ 3 Khaki.
Back in 2011, Jordan Brand created three pairs of the Air Jordan 3 Khaki as a material test sample, coating the model in a khaki suede across most of its paneling. It obviously was never released to the public, but according to zSneakerHeadz, the pair is heading to retail in 2027. It’s expected to maintain the same build as the decade-plus-old sample, including the khaki suede panels on the upper, grey and khaki elephant print, and white accents.

Dark grey hits accent the earthy khaki hue on the top eyelets and the embroidered Jumpman on the tongue. Back on the heel sits a Jumpman logo, forgoing the beloved Nike Air branding many prefer, with the silhouette of MJ dunking also getting a khaki finish. Down below sits a white rubber midsole with an exposed Air unit in the heel and a gum rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 3 Retro Khaki will be released June 12, 2027 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $215.
