Jordan Brand has a knack for reviewing and reimagining previous releases in different forms. For example, many Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG colorways have been successfully converted into low-top form years after their debut. With the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Obsidian UNC debuting in March 2025, another familiar colorway, the Rookie of the Year edition, will also drop as a low-top.
Initially released in 2018, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Rookie of the Year edition sports a Nike Escape-like theme. The upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Rookie of The Year mimics this design, coming in a sail, black, golden harvest, and gym red colorway. Sail-based leather underlays are paired with golden harvest-colored nubuck overlays.
Black accents are seen via the Swoosh on the sides, laces, lining, and tongue tag. A minor hit of red via the Nike Air branding on the tongue tag adds a pop of color. A sail-colored midsole and a black solid rubber outsole finish off the Rookie of the Year design for this AJ 1 Low OG.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Rookie of the Year was originally set to release on January 18, 2025. After a delay, they will drop on April 19 through Nike, SNKRS, and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, retail is set at $140.
