Jordan Brand has a long history of introducing new variants to the Jordan 1 family, giving the sneaker new materials and tooling on what seems like a yearly basis. At the end of 2023, we were given the Jordan 1 Brooklyn Boot, which combined the DNA of MJ’s first signature sneaker with a chunk, platform boot you’d find from brands like Dr. Martens. With a year under its belt and multiple colorways hitting shelves, Jordan Brand is bringing a low-cut version of the boot to market, with the first colorway being a Black Pony rendition.
While the original Jordan 1 Brooklyn Boot transformed the model into a high-cut design, this low-top variant falls more in line with the Jordan 1 Elevate Low as the shape of the Air Jordan 1 Low remains here. However, there are some slight differences to the OG, as we see a metallic silver plate with Air Jordan branding attached to the tip of the toebox, surrounded by black pony hair. This furry material comprises the rest of the paneling, including the Swoosh, eyestays, midfoot, and tongue, with the all-black look only broken up by the aforementioned toecap, red Nike Air embroidery on the tongue, and a metallic silver Jordan Wings logo on the heel.
Below is where the most radical change to the Jordan 1 model occurs. Gone is the rubber midsole we’re all used to seeing. Instead, Jordan Brand adds the same thick platform sole from the original Brooklyn Boot in an all-black color palette.
The Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn Low Black Pony W was released on December 23, 2024, exclusively through atmos Tokyo. A global launch will follow in Spring 2025 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is $160.
