Miles Morales’ silver-screen adventures as Spider-Man have resulted in some of the greatest animated movies of this century, but the third entry in his saga has been on hold for years. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse follows on the cliffhanger ending from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and due to a writers' strike and rewrites, the film’s original March 2024 release has been pushed to June 2027. While we wait for a chance to see Miles again at the multiplex, news of a brand-new Air Jordan 1 collaboration with the Spider-Man franchise has hit the web.
Reported by zSneakerHeadz, Brandon1an, and Sneaker Files, the only information we know about the upcoming Spider-Man Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Beyond the Spider-Verse is its release window, product code, and the colors used. No images of the new collab pair have emerged yet, but we know that it will use a mixture of black, white, and university red. If we’re taking a stab in the dark, it’s probably a remix of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Chicago, but again, we have no idea what the pair looks like just yet.
In both of Miles’ films, Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse, Jordan Brand has been by his side (or should we say feet). Not only does Spider-Man rock Air Jordans in the animated films, but real-life counterparts have been created for fans to chase after. Luckily, Beyond the Spider-Verse continues the collaboration between the Spider-Man franchise and Jordan Brand.

To coincide with the release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018, Jordan Brand created the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Origin Story. The remix of the classic Chicago colorway featured 3M-coated dots across the upper and an icy outsole, forgoing any direct references to Spider-Man. However, Miles would rock the pair in the film and on the poster.

The follow-up film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, expanded on the collaboration between Spider-Man and Jordan Brand. There were two different Air Jordan 1s created to celebrate the film, though only one pair had a wide release. The Next Chapter Air Jordan 1 High again remixed the Chicago AJ 1, but this time with glitch-like details throughout, created by changes in material and color. Again, there is no direct reference to Spider-Man or the film, but Miles Morales does wear the pair in the film.

The final pair from the Spider-Man x Air Jordan 1 collab for Across the Spider-Verse was an ultra-limited friends and family colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Utility. Spoiler alert if you haven’t seen the film, but in the final sequence, Miles is transported to another universe and sees himself as the villain, The Prowler. On the alternate version of Miles as a villain, he’s wearing a purple and black pair of the Air Jordan 1 Utility. The real-life version of the shoe was limited to just 100 pairs.
The Spider-Man x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Beyond the Spider-Verse is slated to release Summer 2027 (which runs from April to June), though it’s more than likely going to drop around the release of the film in June. Expect a release via Nike SNKRS and potentially select retailers online and in-store. A retail price has not been confirmed at this time.
