Plain and “boring” sneakers are something that Montreal-based design studio JJJJound has mastered. The Justin Saunders-led collective has made a name for itself through collaborative efforts in the footwear world that rely on minimal branding changes, neutral color palettes, and elevated materials. However, every once in a while, JJJJound likes to get a little experimental, as seen with the brand’s latest project with Crocs.
After traveling across the footwear industry with giants like adidas, New Balance, Asics, Vans, and Reebok, JJJJound finally landed itself a project with the king of collabs, Crocs, in September 2023. Of course, the two-pack followed JJJJound’s formula of low-effort changes, applying a Slate Grey and White color palette to the sneaker and adding its logo to the sports mode strap.
