Although Asics has been going hard on its techy mesh runners, like the Gel-1130, GT-2160, and Gel-Kayano series, the Gel-Quantum 360 VIII has played a pivotal role in collaborations throughout the last calendar year. Previous partners who put their hand on the sneaker include Dime, SNS, Cecile Bahnsen, and C.P. Company. However, the latest partner will mark its first-ever collaborative footwear project with the Asics Gel-Quantum 360 VIII — Lack of Guidance.
Founded in Amsterdam by Rens van Strien and Akaar Amin in 2016, Lack of Guidance combines the duo’s love for football culture with their penchant for streetwear designs. Of course, with the brand’s DNA embedded in the sport, it only makes sense their debut footwear project speaks to their heritage. Japan’s 1998 FIFA World Cup appearance, particularly the kit worn by the team’s goalkeeper, inspires Lack of Guidance’s take on the Gel-Quantum 360 VIII.
