There has been no shortage of Asics Gel-Kayano 14 collabs in the last few years as the Japanese footwear label has seen much love given to the sneaker by the community. Although their strategy is shifting away from this particular model in favor of others like the Gel-Kayano 20, Gel-Nimbus 10.1, and the upcoming retro run of the Gel-DS Trainer 14, there is still gas left in the tank for collabs on the sneaker. Multi-hyphenate creative director Juliana Salazar is getting her colorway for the Kayano 14.
Salazar employs soothing tones of grey that almost appear greenish, with this shade dominating most of the mesh, leather, and suede construction. The Suede in this shade starts around the toe and transitions into smooth synthetic leather as you approach the lower eyelets and the Asics tiger stripes. Here is where you’ll also see shades of cream incorporated into the design, starkly contrasting the metallic silver lining of the midfoot and heel overlays.

Like almost all renditions of the silhouette, the base of the sneaker is made up of a breathable open-spaced mesh, matching the tonal grey-green look of the silhouette. This extends onto the lace set, which hosts cream accents via the lace set and the nearby sockliner. The cream midsole finishes the design with baby blue Gel inserts on the heel and a tonal rubber outsole.
The Juliana Salazar x Asics Gel-Kayano 14 will release on February 8, 2025, through Asics and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
