The Whitaker Group is fresh off the release of its latest collaboration with New Balance, a two-pack of Made in USA sneakers under the Willful Bias for Education banner but they’re already moving on to another partner. The retail conglomerate is now teaming up with Asics to release an exclusive colorway of the Gel-1130.
Without any knowledge of the TWG connection (more specifically, Social Status, even though all TWG retailers are dropping the pair), you would have no idea this was anything special, as the color scheme isn’t too far off from a GR Gel-1130. The sneaker's construction also retains its traditional open-spaced mesh and synthetic leather paneling, finished here in a combination of cream white, metallic silver, black, and red.

Red acts as the accenting hue to the metallic silver tiger stripe on the midfoot and the border of the Gel-1130 logo on the tongue, while metallic silver and black clash across the rest of the overlays. Tonal laces weave in and out of the black and silver-grey eyestays. Below sits the Gel-1130 foam sole unit in white with red accents on the plastic midfoot shank and a cream/black outsole.
The Social Status-exclusive Asics Gel-1130 will be released August 22, 2025, through The Whitaker Group storefronts (A Ma Maniere, Social Status, APB, and JAIDE) online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
