Detroit culture is one of the country’s most unique local scenes. From Coney dogs and American muscle cars to Cartier Buffs and leather jackets, the D is a force in fashion, music, and every other aspect of cool shit in general. So with March 13th coming up - that 3/13, a clear reference to Detroit’s 313 area code - adidas and Snipes are showing out for the city.
The adidas Top Ten High 313 Day (Snipes Exclusive) is a black and white classic in plush leather with Detroit shoutouts hidden throughout. Starting with a textured leather base, the Three Stripes branding and striped accents are done in shiny silver, with metal lace loops shining up and down the high-top.
Detroit Easter eggs are added to the lateral heel of each shoe in the pair, with a 313 badge, an adidas logo, and a Trefoil on the right shoe, and a DET hit next to the same adidas co-branding on the left shoe. To drive home the Motor City theme, each pair comes with a key to the city keychain with another 313 logo. To release the shoe, adidas dropped a video shot in the city with local rapper GT and will debut the pair with a free concert in the D featuring Skilla Baby.
“313 Day is about celebrating Detroit in the places where its culture actually lives,” said Kelley Walton, SNIPES Chief Marketing Officer. “This sneaker was created with that energy in mind, something the city can claim as its own while bringing people together to celebrate the creativity and pride Detroit is known for.”
