Revisiting history is something adidas does with confidence, and the latest retro bring-back sees a name change and a slight design differential, as the Rasant Mid surfaces. Initially released in the early 1980s as a racing boot called Monza, the model was a favorite of drivers worldwide, including Formula 1 superstars such as Ayrton Senna. Recently reissued in two classic color palettes, this distinctive cow-patterned pair is set to be released exclusively for women.
While the decision to use the name Rasant has yet to be announced, it also harks back to adidas heritage. The original adidas Rasant was a low-cut training shoe made in France and launched in the late 60s and early 70s alongside other classics such as the adidas Damant. It's safe to assume that the Monza name is no longer to be used, most likely because of legal reasons.

Craig Bell happily talks about sneakers or as he calls them "trainers" every day of the year. An avid Bradford City fan, he's also a big supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles. He will forever profess that Cricket is better than Baseball and that Rugby League is better then Rugby Union. Among his many hot takes, he believes the adidas ZX range is the pinnacle of sneaker design.
