Paris-based model, activist, and creative director Taqwa Bint Ali collaborates with adidas to present a new women's exclusive model that combines two classic silhouettes. The Megaride Mary-Jane is set to launch alongside the Adistar Pose as a two-shoe collection for Spring 2025.
Taqwa herself announced the partnership via Instagram, saying, "I wanted my vision for this project to be relatable to all groups of girls, especially in these cities (Zarzis -Tokyo - Paris) that are so dear to my heart. Thank you all for the trust you've placed in me — I'm truly grateful to have had the chance to work with exceptional women, both in front of and behind the camera, from the shoe design process to the production of the images."

Arriving with a tongueless upper crafted from iron metallic leather, the Taqwa Bint Ali x adidas Megaride Mary-Jane features intricate stitching around the toe that highlights the attention paid to the minor details. Subtle Three Stripes branding along the midfoot underscores Bint Ali's minimalist yet bold design aesthetic. It is a homage to merging heritage craftsmanship with modern innovation.
A woven mesh wraps seamlessly from the lateral collar around the heel to the medial side, enhancing flexibility and adding depth to the shoe. This functional design creates a dynamic visual texture, blending performance-driven elements with high-fashion sensibility. A flash of cyber metallic leather is debossed at the heel with the iconic Trefoil insignia.
Bridging the midfoot is a support strap that prominently displays Taqwa Bint Ali's name. It's a nod to the legacy of collaboration between adidas and visionaries in fashion and performance wear. Inside, mesh-lined insoles provide breathability and comfort, featuring adidas linear branding.
Underfoot, the innovative Bounce outsole borrowed from the adidas Megaride platform adds energy return and cushioning. Its wild, sculptural design creates a distinct aesthetic that sets the silhouette apart. The black rubber outsole completes the look, providing grip and durability for diverse terrains.
The Taqwa Bint Ali x adidas Megaride Mary-Jane Iron Metallic W is set to release on January 22, 2025, via adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in women's sizing, retail is $200.
