The adidas Fear of God Athletics Trainer Night Brown Releases January 2025

Jerry Lorenzo’s rocky start to his third pillar of the Fear of God brand, Fear of God Athletics, in partnership with adidas, has been well documented. After a three-year wait, the duo dropped their first collaborative release in December 2023, with the next 12 months full of drops that, unfortunately, went to sales racks. After introducing the follow-up to the performance basketball model, the adidas Fear of God Athletics Basketball II, a new silhouette dubbed the Athletics Trainer, has been revealed.

First spotted at the Fear of God Athletics fashion show at the Hollywood Bowl in April 2023, this pair, which many thought could have followed the Basketball model, sees a premium and luxury-inspired construction. The luxury aesthetic is enhanced by a mix of suedes, including a fuzzy night brown suede on the tongue and back half of the upper and a tan short-haired suede on the toe, featuring FOG’s signature deco stitch pattern. For lockdown support, Jerry has added a canvas lockdown strap that shrouds the premium full-grain leather panel on the bottom half of the tongue and has a short lacing system with a FOGA-branded lace lock.

An elastic gore on the heel allows easy entry into the silhouette, resting above the braided heel counter in a contrasting black shade. As for tooling, Lorenzo equips the model with a Lightstrike midsole identical to the midsole and outsole found on the new adidas Fear of God Athletics Basketball II.

The adidas Fear of God Athletics Trainer Night Brown will release January 31, 2025, through adidas, Fear of God, and select retailers online and in-store.
