The adidas Crazy 8 has been one of the most prominent models featured by The Brand With The Three Stripes over the last 12 months, with the model launched in various inline colorways. Now continuing an extraordinary story for the Paris Basketball Club, which was founded just seven years ago in 2018, the team celebrates its first anniversary of winning its first-ever trophy after they lifted the 2024 LNB Pro A Leaders Cup title (premier basketball division in France) in February 2024.
Founded by David Kahn, a former director of the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves, Paris Basketball Club has exploded on the European basketball scene and is now also the current holder of the EuroCup, competing in their first season in the EuroLeague. The team wears white and maroon jerseys, and these colors are utilized for the shoe. The sneaker was initially named the KB8 when first launched in the late 90s, the first signature shoe of the late Kobe Bryant, with adidas renaming the model to the Crazy 8 in recent years.
Arriving with multiple overlays of maroon suede that unveil flashes of off white leather underneath, the distinctive design features embroidered EQT branding at the lateral and medial sidewall collar, toe box, and heel. The tongue is crafted from a tight woven canvas adorned in maroon hues and finished with an adidas Equipment tongue patch. A two-tone maroon and white canvas appears for the tongue and heel tabs, and it also encompasses the ankle and heel as a supportive strap.
Breathable fabrics line the shoe, allowing for ventilation while providing a secure fit. Underfoot, the iconic Feet You Wear (FYW) outsole is daubed in more maroon and white hues, with a Torsion support system encased in the midsole that compensates for hard play on the court. A rubber outsole provides increased traction and grip.
The Paris Basketball Club x adidas Crazy 8 Maroon is set to release in February 2025 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, retail is $150.
