Mr. Bailey and adidas are Dropping a Super-Stacked Adizero Aruku Yagi

Sportswear brands have been laser-focused on stacking heavy amounts of foam underfoot to create the most cushioned, cloud-like, foot-rocking running shoes, but have they been ignoring the world of walking? Thankfully, London-based designer Mr. Bailey is looking out for the slower paced amongst us, debuting a retooled adidas runner named Aruku Yagi, or, translated from Japanese, Walking Goat.

The Mr. Bailey x adidas Adizero Aruku Yagi brings an outdoor energy to the classic Adizero runner line, creating a thick-soled walking shoe that could probably put in some miles, too. The Aruku, which according to adidas “represents a fusion of global influences,” debuted late last year in limited quantities and has since become a major part of adidas’ release calendar, with new renditions dropping on a monthly basis. The triple black mesh runner is constructed for the elements with heavy reinforcement on the mesh upper, leather heel support, and molded wing hanging off the heel. The thick outsole features a marbled look to break up the pure black color, and a quick lace pulley system completes the gorpcore look.

Mr. Bailey and adidas have collaborated on the adidas Originals OZLUCENT boot in 2022 and continuing the partnership last year with a gradient Adios OG. In addition to the triple black pair of Aruku Yagi, the designer debuted a monochrome grey pair in Las Vegas last week, but that was an exclusive drop, and won’t be released through adidas.
