German sportswear brand adidas is reissuing a classic shoe from the Adizero range, with the Adizero Adios OG surfacing in a women's exclusive color scheme. The shoe first debuted in 2008 at the Berlin Marathon, where the legendary runner Haile Gebrselassie set a world record time while wearing the Neftenga iteration that was released to the public for the first time recently by Wales Bonner. Multiple inline pairs are now due to launch, including Solar Red and this White Multi edition.
The core white breathable mesh forms most of the upper, ensuring lightweight comfort and ventilation while maintaining a distinct appearance. Synthetic suede overlays at the toe front, medial, and lateral add subtle structure and durability. Metallic Silver accents these overlays and is the primary color at the midfoot.
EQT branding graces the heel cup, nodding to The Brand With The Three Stripes Equipment line heritage. Team Royal Blue accents appear on the inner collar and at the top of the iconic Three Stripes branding. The stripes cascade into a vibrant rainbow gradient with green, yellow, orange, and red hues, giving the shoe a bold, eye-catching look.
Linear Adizero branding appears on the tongue, joined by an EQT logo. A thin lace set is color-matched to the upper, with flecks of team royal blue. More linear branding is apparent on the insoles, and multiple stamps across the shoe denote the adiPrene and adiWear additions, as is true to the original shoe and design.
Performance remains at the heart of the design with a dual-layer cushioning system. The EVA midsole encapsulates a torsion system shank for stability and energy return. Additionally, adiPrene cushioning at the forefoot and heel enhances impact absorption during runs or casual wear.
The adidas Adizero Adios OG White Multi W is set to release in Europe on December 15, 2024, via adidas and select retailers online and in-store, with a worldwide drop to follow in January 2025. In women's sizing, retail is $110. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
