The bulky mesh runner isn’t dead yet. After years of comfy-core leading to big, bulky mesh runners from every brand, it looked like we might finally be coming to the end of the puffy trend with a turn towards slimmer silhouettes, but then Pharrell stepped in. Taking things back to the days of the Balenciaga Triple-S, Pharrell and adidas crafted the massive Adistar Jellyfish to a huge wave of success. Now, to capitalize on the Jellyfish hype, adidas is keeping the trend going with the Adistar XLG 2.0.
The latest colorway of the Jellyfish takedown Adistar XLG 2.0 is an off-white blend of cream, tan, and blue. Starting with a creamy off-white mesh base, the toe and TPU structural panels all get a khaki tan color, while a pale, muted blue is added on behind the Three Stripes, on the lace loops, tongue logos, and heel supports in the midsole.

With so much hype behind the Jellyfish and its massive TPU wings hanging off the side, the XLG 2.0 will almost certainly always be seen as a discount version of the real deal, but when it comes to color combos, the latest versions of the XLG 2.0 are giving Pharrell’s design a run for its money.
The adidas Adistar XLG 2.0 Off White will be released Spring 2026 through adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price on this pair is still TBD. To keep up with every new adidas drop, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
