adidas has included one of the world's most successful soccer teams as part of their Terrace Icons Collection, as a Gazelle dedicated to Real Madrid C.F. has surfaced. This Spring 2025 collection of footwear celebrates four teams, including Juventus FC. Paying homage to the 1980s when terraces were commonplace at stadiums across the globe, the collection highlights the illustrious history of each club.
In the 1980s, Real Madrid won 12 major trophies, including five La Liga (Spanish premier division) titles in a row to finish the decade and back-to-back UEFA Cup victories. The team had multiple superstar players, with the Mexican striker Hugo Sanchez setting many records during this time that are still unbroken. Now undoubtedly one of the biggest sports teams on the planet, with unprecedented success both commercially and on the pitch, this latest sneaker continues a long-term partnership between Los Blancos and The Brand With The Three Stripes.
The Real Madrid x adidas Gazelle Terrace has an upper crafted from plush university purple suede that extends to the padded tongue, lace set, and leather collar lining. Cloud White tones provide a pleasant contrast in the form of Three Stripes branding along the midfoot and the leather heel tab. The stripes include magic lilac piping running along the serrated edges, while the crest of Real Madrid sits upon the rear heel tab, finished off in more hits of purple.
Gold foil carries the Real Madrid moniker on the side, parallel to the Three Stripes branding. Proudly adorning the tongue is the traditional Trefoil logo, whereas the dual-branded insoles declare that this pair was designed at adidas HQ in Herzogenaurach. A gum-colored rubber outsole underfoot ensures comfort, exceptional traction, and grip.
The Real Madrid x adidas Gazelle Terrace is set to release on January 28, 2025, via adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, retail is $110. He will forever profess that Cricket is better than Baseball and that Rugby League is better then Rugby Union. Among his many hot takes, he believes the adidas ZX range is the pinnacle of sneaker design.
