Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell is celebrating his Panamanian heritage with a new colorway of his signature sneaker, the adidas DON Issue 8. Mitchell’s mother and grandmother both hail from Panama, which Donovan often credits as the roots of his resilience.
Mitchell has been honoring his heritage with his sneakers since the adidas DON Issue 6, which at the time implemented the colors of the Panamanian flag before switching to the shades of yellow, orange, and green that represent the sun setting over the Isthmus of Panama as seen on the country’s coat of arms. The adidas DON Issue 8 Panama carries on the tradition of the previous colorways.
adidas DON Issue 8 Panama Details
The adidas DON Issue 8 Panama features a breathable mesh upper with a gradient that shifts from teal to orange and back, starting from the toe. The upper is supported by an orange TPU web structure as a nod to his Spida-Man nickname. The gradient also makes its way to the Lightstrike Pro midsole, echoing the shift on the upper.
Black accents pop up on the neoprene collar, midfoot shank, and Three Stripes on the heel. Orange pops up on the mesh tongue and heel tab, while teal appears on the outsole, creating vertical balance in the design to balance the gradient. A hint of lime green appears on the piping, eyelets, and trefoil logo on the heel to complete the design.

The adidas DON Issue 8 Panama will be released on August 15, 2026 via adidas and select retailers online and in-store.
