This weekend, the Oregon Ducks are having a crossover that, at first glance, seems random: the Grateful Dead-themed “tie dye out” game against the Wisconsin Badgers. If you’re a Deadhead, Oregon Ducks alum, or just a lover of rock history, you’ll know that the band played at Autzen Stadium 10 times between 1974 and 1994. To honor the band during its 60th anniversary celebrations, Nike has joined the party to co-create a series of apparel to go alongside the highly anticipated Oregon Ducks x Grateful Dead x Nike Air Max 90.
Headlining the collection that includes jerseys, T-shirts, dad caps, hoodies, sweatpants, long-sleeve tees, and more is the bomber jacket. The blacked-out nylon jacket comes with Grateful Dead-infused design language that reimagines the band’s skull logo into a duck skull. Oregon text and Nike logos are plastered throughout, all getting a funky psychedelic makeover.
There’s also the “Steal Your Duck” jersey, a nod to the Grateful Dead’s live album Steal Your Face, even if there aren’t any direct references to the body of work. Grateful text sprawls across the chest alongside co-branded Grateful Duck skull logos on the shoulders, a psychedelic Swoosh on the upper left chest, and the number 90 in the center.
Other items include tie-dyed long-sleeve shirts, many of which incorporate Grateful Dead iconography that now features Oregon Ducks and Nike references. One of these is a long-sleeve acid-washed tie-dye that adds the Oregon Ducks mascot to the five dancing bears design. Another sees the bear design wrap around a bucket hat. If this is too much (which, if you’re a Grateful Dead superfan it shouldn’t be), there are some clean white and black offerings that use minimal logos.
The Oregon Ducks x Grateful Dead x Nike clothing collection will be released on October 24, 2025 through Nike online. Keep this page handy as above and below there are direct links to cop the collection. You can also explore the full collection and more Oregon Ducks gear at Nike here.
