Will the Virgil Abloh Archives x Nike Air Force 1 Low Sesame Finally Release Next Month?

Virgil Abloh’s sneaker collaborations have always operated with a bit of mystery, building hype from the unknown. On this pair, though, the idea has been taken to the extreme. The Virgil Abloh Archives x Nike Air Force 1 Low Sesame was originally expected to drop last fall, and despite plenty of images of the shoe and what looks to be some retailers in possession of pairs, we still have no firm details on the drop.

The latest update from the rumor mill supposes that the shoe will finally hit shelves next month, with a May release finally putting an end to the anticipatory hype cycle. Of course, there’s no confirmation of that rumor from Nike or V.A.A., but we can always dream, right? After the recent drop of the V.A.A. x Air Jordan 1 High Alaska, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched.

Official images of the pair have been available for months, showing a clean take on Virgil’s stitched Swoosh Air Force 1 motif. Starting with a Sesame tan leather across the entire upper, the silver Swoosh is stitched with black thread to match the black “AIR” logo on the midsole. An orange tag hanging beneath the Swoosh brings it all together.
