If you were one of the lucky ones to have copped the Virgil Abloh Archives x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Alaska at one of the many pop-ups and the online EQL raffle over the last few weeks (like this author), you’ll be able to rest easy for the global release set to take place on April 3. Those who, unfortunately, did not secure a pair will be entering as many raffles as possible and praying for a Nike SNKRS drop to go down in the US. While we can’t confirm or deny a US Nike SNKRS release, official images of the pair have loaded, meaning it’s likely Nike will drop the pair in some form, though that could be reserved for countries outside of the United States.

Virgil’s iconic DIY and prototype design language found across The Ten collection is recreated here in 1:1 fashion, except for a few branding details. As we know by now, Virgil Abloh’s estate has moved on from its connection to Off-White, the brand that Virgil grew from the ground up, so any mention of the label has been removed. Instead, the Helvetica text on the medial side of the upper and stamped on the plastic zip-tie now reads “V.A.A. for Nike.” Inside, the Off-White logos are removed, keeping the standard Nike Air logo. Outside of this, the rest of the sneaker looks identical to the original Off-White x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Euro.

Packaging is redone as well, with the original see-through flip-top box replaced with a large slide-out box. Plastic cut-outs like holes in Swiss cheese are placed throughout the cardboard Nike box, and the shoes themselves are housed in a plastic container. Also included is a small zine titled “MODERNISM IS NOT NEW,” featuring pictures of archival designs and other objects from Virgil Abloh.

As mentioned at the top of this article, the Virgil Abloh Archives x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Alaska will have a global release on April 3, 2026 via select retailers and Nike. Again, a US release via SNKRS is not guaranteed, but it’s likely that, at the very least, some overseas markets will get a Nike release. If you can make it to Japan, V.A.A. is hosting one final activation in collaboration with fragment design from March 28-31.
