Sporty & Rich Continues adidas Partnership on Pack of Adistar Control 5
Sporty & Rich founder Emily Oberg made a successful pivot from fashion media to fashion mogul with her brand of country-club-ready prepwear. And if you’re going to be joining Buffy and Chad at the club, you’ll need a solid pair of tennis shoes. Thankfully, Sporty & Rich has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with adidas since 2022, producing footwear perfect for your leisure sport of choice.
The latest Sporty & Rich x adidas collab continues where it left off, featuring two colorways of the Y2K-coded Adistar Control 5, a tech runner carrying on the Adistar line. Oberg starts with shine, taking the chunky mesh shoe and covering the synthetic panels in Terminator-style metallic silver with greyish silver mesh to match, all set off by mint green accents on the Three Stripes and outsole.
Keeping with the theme, the second pair shares the mint green color, but trades the silver upper for a clean white mesh and synthetic. There are still a few silver accents in the stabilization panels, with black in the middle of the mint stripes, and a more prominent mint stripe in the midsole. Whether you’re going hard on the treadmill or walking the mile in gym class, these Y2K runners are about as era-specific as they come.
The Sporty & Rich x adidas Adistar Control 5 Pack will be released in September 2025, through Sporty & Rich and select adidas retailers in-store and online.
