Paris Fashion Week is here, and that means a first look at plenty of new sneaker collabs from the fashion industry that we won’t see again for months, when a random release reminds us of all the Parisian parties we missed. This year, the first Fashion Week looks from a major sneaker brand come from Song for the Mute and adidas, who broke down the Samba to its simplest form: a beaten-down house shoe.

The Song for the Mute x adidas Fall/Winter 2026 Preview features two collab silhouettes in three colorways each, reimagining the SL 72 and Samba, each in a crumpled and deconstructed shape, looking as floppy as possible. The SL 72 was previewed in three colorways, a Retro Blue, Chalk White, and Cumin brown, all with an extra long set of laces wrapping around the forefoot and patches added to the toeside of the lateral side panel. The retro runner also receives an upgrade in tooling, with a Lightstrike foam midsole appearing quite similar to the Adizero Evo SL.

The Samba collection stands out, with two colorways of classic leather Sambas in black with white Stripes and brown with black Stripes and a third in green suede with black Stripes. All three colorways feature a collapsible heel like the old pair you used to take the trash out in, turning the shoe into a slip-on hybrid of sorts.

The Song for the Mute x adidas Fall/Winter 2026 Collection won’t be released for months, but as always, the Paris Fashion Week preview is a nice way to build hype. That’s plenty of time to start stepping on the back of your old Sambas to fit the new style.
