The Miami-based retailer SoleFly gets an opportunity to work on an iconic Jordan model, the Air Jordan 13.
While a slew of retailers, like A Ma Maniere, have brought their own unique flare to various Jordan Brand models, shops with connections to MJ himself often get special treatment. Just like Marcus Jordan’s Trophy Room store (who is getting a special AJ 7 colorway), SoleFly also has ties to the man behind the most coveted line of basketball sneakers. With its founder, Carlos Prieto, being MJs brother-in-law, the Miami-based retailer has had multiple opportunities to work on iconic Air Jordan sneakers like the AJ 1 High and Low as well as more recent models like the AJ 23. Now, delving back into the archives, the Air Jordan 13 is getting the SoleFly treatment.
Unlike previous collaborations, the color palette strays away from SoleFly’s typical use of Florida-like shades, instead choosing a UNC blue across its dotted suede overlay. The “Flint” vibes continue with cream shades found along the canvas ripstop underlay, located on the toe and tongue while branding details on the vamp and aforementioned tongue swap out typical Jordan logos for SoleFly on the left pair. Wrapping from the heel around the edges of the upper and sole is grey suede, featuring the famous cat eye detail along the collar in green. Located nearby is the UNC blue sockliner which comes with a baseball stitch-like finish atop its mesh construction. On the insole, a faux animal print graphic sits atop the foam insert while Jordan and SoleFly logos come split between the right and left pair respectively. Underfoot, the AJ 13 midsole features the two primary shades of cream and blue while the rubber outsole below comes with hits of gum, cream, and blue.
The SoleFly x Air Jordan 13 Retro is set to release on December 2nd, 2022 through SoleFly at 10am EST. While select retailers will release pairs on December 3rd, 2022 online and in-store. Nike SNKRS will host their drop later in the month of December. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $200. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest happenings in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
