Vans Teams Up with Jiu-Jitsu Outfitter Shoyoroll for Two Old Skool 36s

These days, streetwear brands are pegged to every subculture under the sun. From skate and surf origins to tennis and golf-themed brands and everywhere between, there’s a good chance that your chosen hobby has a crew of like-minded t-shirt makers channeling their energy into design. For lovers of jiu-jitsu, that brand is Shoyoroll. In a new collab, Shoyoroll brings its fighting ethos to a two-pack of Vans Old Skool 36, finding zen between one bold all-over print logo colorway and the other taking on the natural tan of a woven mat.

The all-over print colorway starts with navy blue suede on the toe box and lace panels, but covers both of the side panels in repeating logo print canvas with “Shoyoroll Brand rebels against the mainstream” written in white rectangular boxes against a red background. The natural tan colorway is much more subtle, keeping the same color blocking, with black suede on the toe and lace panels, but a woven tan print on both side panels that reminds us of a meditation mat.

Shoyoroll and Vans first teamed up last summer for a limited edition slip-on covered in circular logos. Outside of this, the world of jiu-jitsu and skateboarding joined forces when Nike SB launched its Albino & Preto collab on the SB Dunk Low.
