College basketball fans and those dreaming of a perfect bracket all gear up for March Madness every year in hope of their team surviving the 64-team tournament and/or scoring big on bets placed throughout the event. Gearing up for the tournament, Reebok has created a series of collegiate-inspired colorways on various retro basketball silhouettes including the Pump Omni Zone 2 “Kentucky” and a “Georgetown” inspired Answer DMX, though they’re not finished yet. Now, Reebok has dressed its Hurrikaze 2 in a “UCLA” colorway.
Just like the California-based institution’s team colors, the sneaker comes in shades of white, blue, and yellow with the latter two of the three accenting throughout the upper. Smooth white leather panels for the upper’s main overlays with perforated details appearing on the toebox and near the collar. Along the midfoot sits a wavy suede overlay that gets a bright blue makeover to match the tongue’s suede tag. Reebok branding comes in each of the sneaker’s colors with the toe hosting a blue/yellow Vector logo and the tongue getting “Reebok” embroidered in white. Two-tone blue and white laces continue the UCLA vibes while the heel and portions of the sole unit bring forth the yellow accents. Rounding out the design is the white, blue, and yellow foam midsole paired with a rubber outsole featuring all three shades.
The Reebok Hurrikaze 2 UCLA is set to release on March 25th, 2023 through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
